SpendSense reads your bank SMS alerts the moment they arrive — extracting the amount, merchant, and category without you lifting a finger. No cloud. No login. No manual entry.
How it works
SpendSense turns your bank's transaction alerts into a clear financial picture — completely automatically.
You make a payment. Your bank sends their usual alert — "Your account has been debited Rs. 850 at Keells Super."
The amount, merchant, and category are extracted on your device the instant the SMS arrives. No server involved. No delay.
Open the app to see where your money went — by day, by category, and against the monthly budgets you've set.
Features
Built to be simple and private. No accounts. No subscription required to start.
Transactions appear the moment your bank sends an alert. Works silently in the background, even when the app is closed.
Category breakdowns, monthly totals, and trends — all calculated locally on your device without touching a server.
Set monthly limits by spending category. SpendSense shows how much you have left before you overspend.
Protect your financial data with fingerprint, face recognition, or device PIN. Off by default — yours to enable.
Export your history as a portable file and restore it anytime. You choose where it goes. We never see it.
Add cash transactions or correct auto-captured ones. Tap any transaction to edit the amount, merchant, or category.
Supported banks
SpendSense recognises transaction SMS alerts from these banks automatically. No setup needed — just grant the SMS permission and it works.
Your bank not listed? Contact us with a sample SMS and we'll add support for it.
Privacy by design
SpendSense was built with a single constraint: no servers. Your financial life is private by architecture, not just by policy.
Technical note: SpendSense sets android:allowBackup="false" — your data cannot be silently uploaded to Google's cloud backup. In production builds, raw SMS content is never stored after parsing. Only the extracted fields — amount, merchant, category, date — are saved to your local database. Read the full privacy policy →
